Pandemic Brings New Opportunities for Father/ Son Duo in Electric Bike Industry
BOCA RATON, FL – October 12, 2020
Pedego® Electric Bikes is now open in Boca Raton, Florida, and offers a full range of e-bike sales, rentals, services, and accessories. It is owned and operated by a father-son duo– Grego and Kyle Coker who are looking forward to delighting the community of Boca Raton with the joy of Pedego. Grego and Kyle are excited about the opportunity to begin this new business venture as father and son, “I’m really enjoying working with my best friend,” remarks Grego.
Grego is a former Naval Lieutenant Commander and 30-year commercial airline pilot; while his son, Kyle, has a background in robotic engineering and was a top finalist at the FIRST Robotics Competition for 3 consecutive years. “These two represent the best of what a Pedego store owner should be,” says Don DiCostanzo CEO and co-founder of Pedego Electric Bikes, “Through both their fun personalities and family values, we are proud to have them represent Pedego in Boca Raton.”
Although the Cokers had both found success down their individual career paths, the COVID-19 pandemic presented a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Electric bike sales in the U.S. skyrocketed to an increase of nearly 92% in April 2020 compared to April of the previous year, according to the NPD Group, a market research firm. With this growing popularity and statistics to support it, it was a no brainer for Grego and Kyle to begin blazing a new path within the e-bike industry.
The Cokers are committed to building a community of fun-loving Pedego owners in Boca Raton. In addition to making everyone who walks through their doors feel like family, they plan to start group rides to build friendships and comradery. Grego states, “Our goal with Pedego Boca Raton is to promote fun, freedom, and fitness. When I was flying, it was always about the adventure of it and any destination I went to, I made sure to make the most of it– I want to lead our community to do the same with their Pedego bikes.”
