Pedego Electric Bikes Opens in Salem

Locally-Owned Electric Bike Shop Opens Doors to Community; Inspires Connection And Celebrates Outdoor Activity

SALEM, N.H.—May 26, 2021—Pedego Electric Bikes, a leading electric bike brand with a storefront now open in Salem, is celebrating the occasion with a community-focused grand opening event on Wednesday, May 26, from 4-7 p.m.

Hosted by local owner Rachel Higginbottom and her son, Ryan Higginbottom, who manages sales, tours and service, the event will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, music from a local DJ, a food truck provided by Farm Edible, Transplanted Greenhouse, a roaming greenhouse where guests can purchase flowers and other plants, and the opportunity to participate in a raffle for a free Pedego Element bike. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Friends of Salem Bike-Ped Corridor, a nonprofit whose mission is to help people simply enjoy the outdoors, while all proceeds from the plant truck will be donated to the Salem Animal Rescue League whose mission is to saves the lives of abandoned, neglected and injured animals by providing a safe haven and new permanent homes for them. Pedego CEO Don DiCostanzo and Pedego Director of Business Development Cynthia Newcomb will also be in attendance to connect with local Pedego enthusiasts.

Higginbottom spent 15 years in medical device sales and several years in orthopedics before opening Pedego Salem. “Coming from a medical background, I understand the importance of exercise,” said Higginbottom. “That’s the great thing about Pedego Electric Bikes; they extend recreational access to aging adults and those with physical ailments who may not be able to ride traditional bikes, but enjoy exercise and spending time outdoors.”
