Discovering the Exceptional Experience at Pedego Gilbert AZ: Our Journey to Find the Perfect E-bike

So, in July 2021 off we went on our adventure to look at E-bikes.  Our first stop was a local bike shop down the street which we quickly realized did not carry any E-bikes so we then moved on. The next stop was a nice shop that carried multiple brands. We asked, “what about the ones we see on the internet” and got a really nice explanation that “we’ll do our best to repair them, most shops don’t carry the parts for those brands in stock so sometimes it can take a long time for the repair to be completed” (this was a consistent message at most shops we visited).  They did let us test drive a bike around the parking lot for a couple of minutes and since I had never been on an E-bike my interest was increased a bit. We then moved onto the next shop and although they sold E-bikes they could not offer a test drive.

Our final stop of the weekend was at Pedego Gilbert AZ where we were greeted by Mike (the owner) and Tom (the store manager) as if we had been long time customers.  It was quite a refreshing experience. Mike and Tom were low key, no pressure and answered all our questions as silly as they might have been.  We learned all about Pedego, Peddle Assist, Throttle and after looking at a few models we thought that the Interceptor model would be good for us.  Tom said, “hey, let’s go for a ride which ones do you like”?  I think Tom knew riding the bike would sell itself. We picked out two bikes and Mike and Tom got them ready for our test drive. Tom guided us to a large parking lot next door to the shop so we could get acquainted with the bikes, seat height, peddle assist and the throttle.  Then off we went to the Gilbert bike path for our test ride. We rode for a about ½ hour and really fell in love with the Pedego bikes but more importantly we were so impressed with how we were being treated by Mike and Tom who explained the 5-year warranty, theft replacement guarantee and how no matter where in the US we might be, all the Pedego dealers would treat us like family even though each store is locally owned. These guys were great as is the Pedego customer service and we were ready to buy.

I asked Mike “when could we have the bikes delivered if we purchased them today” to which he responded, “how about 3pm this afternoon?” I WAS ECSTATIC and said “PERFECT, let’s do it”.  Although Pedego was not the least expensive brand, we were so impressed by how we were treated we could not see us purchasing any other brand of E-bike. PEDEGO was the brand for us. So now with both of us in our 60’s, we’ve already put 300 miles on our Pedego and average 15 mile rides. As a side note, although we’ve lived here is AZ for 4 years, we are seeing our environment in a whole different way and now have a bike rack for our car and planned some trips around bike paths.

David Hayles is a stage IV cancer survivor in his 70’s. That didn’t stop him from traveling all the way around the world on a Pedego.

In less than a year and a half, the self-described “eccentric, old English fool” Pedego’d over 21,000 miles through 28 countries!

Along the way, he inspired countless others to live life to the fullest, despite any challenges.

David’s message is simple, “Never give up!”

“My particular stupid thing was to bicycle around the world, but there’s loads of other things you can do,” he advises.

“Just get on and enjoy life, rather than sit down and give up. You should never give up!”

According to David, the highlight of the trip was the people he met. Everywhere he went, people wanted to take a selfie with him, and he was touched by their warm-hearted hospitality.

“Everybody was not only friendly, but they tried to be as helpful as they could as I made my way through the journey,” he remembers. “That was the joy of the journey.”

Rain or shine, Dr. Miryam Liberman (in her 60s) Pedegoes 12 miles to work as an internal medicine physician. It’s the highlight of her day – combining exercise, fun, and the wonders of nature.

William Shatner is just like everyone else. He loves his family.

Sure, he also enjoys fast cars, horses, and motorcycles, but he treasures quality time with his kids and grandkids more than anything on earth (or any other planet).

The Shatners still have family dinner almost every Sunday, and they’ve traveled across the globe together. Of all the experiences they’ve shared, Pedegoing has a special place in their hearts because it’s fun for the entire family that brings them together more than anything else. Finally, something that everyone can agree on!

“We’ve gone on many adventures,” William recalls, “none more joyful than the electric Pedego bike.”

William and his wife, Liz, fell in love with their first pair of Pedego Electric Bikes in 2012. Today, the family owns 16 of them!

The grandkids call William “Papa,” but it’s hard to pick the adults out of the crowd when they’re out riding together. They all giggle and race around like unruly schoolchildren, and William has no trouble keeping up with the 20-year-olds of the family.

David has logged over 40,000 miles on his beloved Pedego and they are both still going strong. “I expect it to do another 40,000 easily,” he says with confidence.

On a typical day, David will ride about 50 miles! He loves to explore parts of his hometown that he never knew existed, or that he only saw through a car window in the past.

David Pedegoes at a leisurely pace, and he always pedals. He enjoys the convenience of the throttle to help get started from a complete stop, but otherwise he uses the pedal assist mode almost exclusively.

For David, Pedego means freedom. It empowers him to venture out longer distances than would ever be possible on a traditional bicycle – with no worries. “I know that when I get tired at the end of a long jaunt, and I’ve still got another 9 miles to go, the bike’s going to get me home without killing me!”

More than nine months after excruciating hip surgery, Kim is finally on the move again! “I’m a mover,” she explains, “and I’ve been so confined after this surgery. To get on a bike again and to be able to ride and feel normal again. It has meant everything to me.”

Kim’s Pedego is specially equipped to carry her crutches. She rides to physical therapy three times a week, and it’s so much fun that she hardly notices all the therapeutic exercises involved. “My physical therapist thinks it’s amazing!” Kim reports, “Now I show up with a smile on my face and new energy to keep going.”

Aside from the physical benefits, the sheer joy of Pedegoing has also contributed greatly to her recovery. “The thrill of moving fast and having the wind in my face has been incredible for my sanity, and really it’s been the Pedego bike that’s given me a sense of life back.”

Kim faces another grueling surgery on the opposite hip next year, and her only comfort is the knowledge that her Pedego will always be there for her. “I have such a long road ahead of me,” she says, “but I’m having a sense of pleasure and joy that I haven’t had for almost a year.”

Frank was hooked the very first time he tried a Pedego Electric Bike. “The smile on my face was from ear to ear,” he remembers.

He upgraded his traditional bicycle to a Pedego, and he’s never looked back. Frank’s last name means “Heaven” in Italian and he likes to say, “When I ride my Pedego, I’m in Heaven!”

Frank averages between 60 and 100 miles a week on his electric bike. He uses it to make deliveries for his business, and just to ride around town for the pure joy of it. He attracts a lot of attention on his bright green Interceptor, and he loves to smile and wave at the people he meets along the way.

Since he’s started Pedegoing he’s lowered his blood pressure and lost weight. “I think it’s a combination of the exercise and the relaxation I get from it.”

“The fun has never stopped,” Frank beams. “There’s a lot to see, and a lot to enjoy, and it’s a pleasure doing it on the Pedego.”

The Blanchettes fell in love with Pedego Electric Bikes when a family friend suggested they rent them to try it out. They were amazed by the distance they covered, and nobody could remember a time they all laughed so hard. It felt good.

Pedegoing has brought them much closer as a family. They’re spending more quality time together and enjoying every second of it.

“We may be all in the same house, but it doesn’t mean we’re really doing things together,” says Shane (aka Dad). “Now with the Pedegos, we are! Instead of everyone doing their own thing, we’re all enjoying the same experience and having a lot of fun together.”

The best part is that it’s something that everyone can agree on. The kids beg to go riding every weekend, and Mom and Dad love it too! “It puts a smile on everyone’s face,” reports Stacey (aka Mom). “We love it!”
